Regardless Of The Circumstances, You Can Change Your Life
I am excited about what we’re going to talk about. The title of the show is Regardless of the Circumstances You Can Change Your Life. What a powerful statement that is. We’re going to get into what that means and how you can change your life regardless of what pitfall, regardless of whatever circumstances, whatever situations, whatever has happened to you in your past, whatever you’re currently going through. You can change your life and we’re going to talk about how you can do that. I realize that sometimes in life, situations happen, things show up. It happens to all of us.
No one is exempt from trials and tribulations. No one is exempt from challenges and obstacles. We all face them. It depends on whatever we are in that place, in that dip, which we’re going to talk about a little bit later when you’re in that badly and it seems like things are not going to change, that they’re going to remain the same and you can’t see your way out. It feels like this is going to last forever that this is going to be, your life is never going to change. I’m here to tell you as a Game Changer that you can change your life and I’m going to help you with that. I’m going to give you some tools and some techniques that you can use in order to change your life when you’re in the valley, how to pivot out of dire circumstances out, how to pivot out of situations that seem insurmountable.
We’re going to get into all of that and this is going to be a very real show. I’m going to share some things with you that a personal. I’m going to share some things with you and when I share these things, things may come up for you. It’s good to pay attention to what comes up for you as we talk about some of these things because I believe that when we are in those types of situations it depends on us. It is up to us, meaning it’s up to you. If you’re in a situation and you want to change that situation and you don’t like the way that situation is going in and it seems like it has been present in life for a long time and it seems like it will never go away, still it is up to you to change that situation.
[Tweet “View your burdens as pathways to greatness.”]
Sometimes we have to get real with ourselves, and we’re going to talk about that. How to get real, being real. I’m going to talk about some very real issues. Things may come up for you and I want you to pay close attention to them because that may help you understand where you are and some of the things that you can do in order to help the situation to get out of the situation, to remove the situation. We’re going to talk about opportunities that exist in life for you to grow and further develop as a person, sometimes our situations, our opportunities, but we don’t always view them that way. We’re going to talk about how to view your burdens as pathways to greatness.
Stop Making Excuses
I’m going to give you as well four specific mantras for those of you who find yourselves in a tough place, things that you can repeat to yourself that you can revert back to whenever you feel down, you feel defeated and deflated, and you feel powerless. I’m going to give you four specific mantras that you can use in order to empower yourselves and then we’re going to talk about how to own up to your own potential for prominence. That’s right. How to own up to your own potential for prominent. I’m excited about the show. I’m excited about the comp session and I’m excited about the difference that it can make in your life and in the lives of others.
Let’s dive right in to this. One of the first things that I want to talk about when we’re talking about getting over the circumstances, regardless of the situation, you can change your life. The first thing that I want to attack is excuses. That’s right, excuses. You see, this is the first step to getting over circumstances and situation. At some point we have to get to a place where we stop making excuses and a lot of times people put roadblocks where there are none and they do this by what they believe and the things that they are thinking about the situation. For example, that is never ever going to go away, that it’s impossible to change this, that it is what it is. Those are all limiting beliefs and sometimes we create roadblocks by thinking that way because that is, that’s a blind spot.
When you’re thinking that, “It is what it is, it’s not going to change. I can’t change it. I’ve done all that I can do.” Stop it. Get outta here. You have not done all that you can do. If you are still in a situation and that means there’s room for more. There’s room for growth, there are some area where there may be a blind spot or an area that has not been addressed that will allow a break through and you have to continue to look forward. You have to continue to examine yourself, to look at yourself, to look at the situation and your surroundings and see is there something there that is preventing you from seeing a way out in and it could be laziness. It could be that you are making freaking excuses.
You’ve been making excuses all your life. You’ve been making excuses every since this situation has showed up. You have not faced it. It has been defeating you and kicking your butt and you are not doing what you know you need to do about it in order for you to overcome it and you’ve got to get to a place when you’re tired, you’re sick, and you’re tired of making excuses because see, I don’t believe in excuses. I believe that if you run it, you can have it. If it means that you have to work twice as hard in order for you to get your success, then so what? It is what it is. In that case, if that’s what it takes, then that’s what you have to do.
Do Something Different
A lot of us don’t want to hear that. A lot of us don’t want to do what we have to do, we want, but we’re not willing to do what it takes in order to have what it is that we want. I heard somebody say that to whom much is given, much is required. You have to pay the price. If you want greatness, if you want to come out of your situation, if you want to arise to the next level, if you want to get out and change your life, it’s going to require you to do something different. It’s going to require you to think a little bit differently. It’s going to require you to develop new relationships, new friendships. Learn a new skill, put away those old habits, things that you have been doing that is not empowering you.
You have to look and find a new way of being in order to change your life and get out of that circumstances. There’s no way around that, but the thing about it is whenever you find yourself in a situation, whenever you find yourself in a place where you feel defeated, you have to take a look at this and see that it is an opportunity. A lot of times whenever we are faced with dire circumstances, we were faced with circumstances and situations that are not favorable to us, the first thing we want to do is say, “Woe unto me.” We start blaming and we started feeling bad and we started feeling defeated. We started feeling fearful and that is not the way we should do it.

Change Your Life: The best way to look at situations that are hard, that may seem tough, and that may seem insurmountable, is to look at them as opportunities.
That’s not the way a Game Changer thinks. That’s not a way a Game Changer is. A Game Changer looks at every situation regardless of the good or bad as an opportunity. I believe that the best way to look at situations that are hard, that may seem tough, that may seem insurmountable, is to look at them as opportunities. Because let’s face it, when you’re strong enough to handle certain things, it’s not challenging to you. It isn’t. When you face with certain situations that you’re familiar with, that you’ve been through before, that you have the strength to experience, have the strength to carry yourself through it.
You’re not upset by that. It doesn’t affect you, it doesn’t bother you, it doesn’t do anything to you emotionally. You’re like, “I’m going to do this. I’ve got this. I deal with it and I move on.” When it’s something that’s bigger than what you’ve experienced before, when it’s something that is larger than what you are familiar with, it seems to hurt. It seems to take you down. It seems to be something that seems like you can’t climb out of. It seems to be a mountain that’s too big for you in the normal reaction to that is fear, discomfort, lack of motivation, withdraw and rejection.
[Tweet “You can learn a whole lot when you’re down in that valley.”]
We shy away from those types of situations. We don’t want to deal with those types of situations. We don’t want to face those types of situations, but I believe that anywhere there’s dissatisfaction in your life, anywhere there’s a place where you’re a dissatisfied or you’re not living the way you want. You don’t have the level of comfort, perhaps the level of satisfaction perhaps in your life. That is an opportunity for you to grow. Wherever there’s a setback, wherever there’s a burden, wherever there’s resistance. These are opportunities and it all depends on your perspective on how you approach these situations.
A lot of people believe that the harmony of life isn’t a straight line. The harmony of life is not in a straight line. Whenever you’re going through life, you’re going to go through some ups and downs, some hills and some mountains. You’re going to have to go around some curves. A lot of times what people want to do is when they are following through the harmony of life, and then all of a sudden there’s a tree, there’s a problem, there’s a situation. It could be symbolic of a tree and then boom, you run smack dab into the tree. It hurts and you’re like, “What the fudge? You know there’s a tree here. That’s the problem. There’s a situation. I’m outside of the harmony of life. This is not what harmony supposed to feel like.”
How You Respond To It Is Going To Be Crucial
You have to realize that you have to navigate that tree and navigating that tree requires change. We’re actually going to run right into it and perhaps you have ran into a tree. Perhaps you are in a situation that doesn’t feel so good, that’s kicking your butt that’s making you feel less than a person. How would you respond to this? It’s going to be crucial to your success. How you respond to it’s going to be crucial to how you can change your life.
Right now, you are in a dip and how you behave when you are in that dip determines your level of success. It determines how long you stay in the deal. It determines how you come out of the dip. You are in a pivot and I loved that because a lot of people viewed pivots as negative things, but there’s so much to be learned in the pivot. There’s so much to be learned in the valley. There’s so much to be gained when we are at our lowest. You have to have the mindset and that’s the difference between having a fixed mindset and a growth mindset or a game changing mentality. It’s all up to you because then you can learn a whole lot when you’re down in that valley.
Be Willing To Do What You Need To Do To Climb Out Of It
You’ve got to learn a whole lot about yourself when you’re down in that valley. You can learn your weakness that you can learn that you’re not so strong when you thought you were strong. You can learn that there are certain things that you need to do, certain blind spots that you need to address in order to bounce back and get up out that pit. The thing about it is we want to stay there because it hurts so bad. We don’t want to do what’s required in order to climb out because it’s going to take some effort. It’s going to take some discomfort and facing that discomfort, facing that fear. The thing about it is if you want to change your life.
Regardless of the circumstances, you can change your life. If you want to change your life while you’re down there at that pit you’ve got to think about what it is that you need to do in order to climb out. You’ve got to be willing and ready to do it. You’ve got to be focused. You’ve got to say regardless of being here, I know I’m going to climb out. I know I’m going to develop the skills that I need. That’s going to make me a better person. This is not going to always defeat me. Yes, I’m in this pit right now, but I want to be here for long because I’m going to climb out of this pit.
When you have that mentality that there’s something for me to learn out of this and then we have to look at ourselves. A lot of times we blame, but what I’m talking about is looking at you, looking at yourself deep down inside. How did you get there in the first place? What is it about you that allowed that to happen? This can be a learning process. We can use our setbacks, we can use our burdens. We can use those areas where we’re not satisfied with life as places for growth. We believe that as individuals if there’s an area that we’re not satisfied with your life, it’s because we are not familiar with that particular area. We haven’t mastered that particular area.
Be Grateful For The Opportunity
It’s like being in the gym. If you know you’re not good with the ab work, that means you need to put more time in working on your abs. Whatever body part, whatever area of your life where you’re dissatisfied. It’s not a burden, it’s not an area that satisfied with. It’s a place for you to grow and therefore we don’t have to get upset about it. We don’t have to walk around with the sad face talking about life sucks. “It’s horrible. I shouldn’t have to go through this.” Be grateful for what you are, be grateful for what you have. Be grateful for the opportunity you never want to despise the opportunity for growth that is a secret right there. Whenever you are dealing with challenges, dealing with obstacles, if you view them as opportunities for growth, you will never ever get upset about them.
I know they don’t feel good, I get that, but that doesn’t mean that they have to control your emotions, control your view and your outlook on life because regardless of the circumstance, you can change your life. I know you’ve heard stories of people who have been defeated. They’ve been in prison, they’ve been injured. They’ve been through all kinds of domestic violent situations. They’ve been abused, they’ve been divorced and they had been kicked out, they’ve been destroyed. They lost their jobs, devastating things have happened to them in their lives, but somehow some way they found a way to bounce back.
They found a way to refocus. They found a way to regroup. Get back into the game and become Game Changers to change the whole game, changed her whole life and not their life, they changed the world. They make a difference in the lives of other people. That’s what it gets down to is it’s up to you and how you view the burden. How did you view it? Your burden, your issue, your problem it could be the pathway to success. It is up to you.

Change Your Life: Obstacles and challenges that show up show up, if we view them in the right perspective, strengthen our spirits.
View Your Burdens As Pathways To Success
I heard someone say that, the people who earn the most money or the people who are the most respected are the people who know how to solve problems. Will you get the true definition of life? Life is not always peaches and roses. Sometimes life sucker punches you in the face. Sometimes there’s an issue that you have to do with some times you’re going to have a burden. You’re going to have an obstacle. You’re going to have a challenge. You’re going to have a problem.
A lot of times what we don’t want, we want to live through, go through life unrestricted. Everything is good. We never had any challenges, were never restricted. There aren’t any constraints. That’s not the reality of life and quite frankly, I don’t want to go through life like that. I love the challenge and the reason why I love the challenge because it offers an opportunity for me to be better. Imagine going through life without any challenges, without any opportunities for growth. The resistance is what cause you to grow. Even your body works that way without no resistance you can’t strengthen your muscles, you can’t strengthen it. A lot of times these obstacles and challenges that show up show up if we viewed them in the right perspective.
They can strengthen our spirits. They can strengthen our faith. They can strengthen our minds. They can strengthen our emotions. They can strengthen our heart. They could strengthen our love. They could strengthen our finances. They could strengthen our ability to succeed. They can strengthen our ability to produce and to increase our performance, but you have to view it that way. These opportunities for growth, these are opportunities to develop. These are opportunities to learn new skills. These are opportunities to discover and create something new about yourself. A lot of the inventions, a lot of the amenities, a lot of the things that we enjoy in life are from problems.
Problems that occurred, problems that existed in someone took the time to solve that problem. It doesn’t matter what the problem is, big or small, whether it’s relationship on agile, job related, health related, whatever it is, it’s just you putting the right focus, using your power, using your spiritual source and putting enough focus and time and energy on that thing in order to change it instead of bickering and complaining about it. That is not going to produce anything for you. You’ve got to realize that you have that power to do it. You’ve got to realize that that is the effort. That is the time that is the process that you have to go through in order to produce the result of change. to produce the result of change.
Whenever you are in that place, realizing that whenever you are learning, you’re growing, you’re developing new skills, you creating something new about yourself. What I love about that is that is something that you can build on. You don’t build those new skills and never used them. Everything that you’ve gone through in life, wherever you are and whatever you’ve been through in life, it has prepared you for where you are. The skills and the experiences that you have, that you’ve gone through. That’s something that you can build on whenever you’re getting ready to face your next challenge.
Whenever the next obstacle shows up, you can go back to your toolbox and you can remember and you can pull out the tools that you use that helped you overcome those things. Perhaps you need to develop some, some new skills, and when you do, you can use that for the next obstacle. These are things that you can build on so you keep getting better and better. You keep growing and you keep becoming a person who can handle challenges, who can solve problems. You keep increasing yourself. You keep expanding yourself and where you are going through that thing, there are some things that I want you to remember. Four specific mantras that I want you to remember whenever you find yourself in a tough place.
[Tweet “Everything that you’ve gone through in life, wherever you are and whatever you’ve been through in life, has prepared you for where you are.”]
One of the things that I do, I say I’m not the circumstances of my past. I am the creator of my future. I love that because what are you thinking about whenever you are in a challenge or you’re in the middle of a circumstance or in the middle of a situation? A lot of times we are filled with negativity. Our minds all go to the negative aspects of the situation and that doesn’t help and a lot of times we need to bring some positivity back to the situation and we need to be able to say to ourselves, we need to be able to understand who we are in the midst of that circumstance, in the midst of that situation.
This is a powerful mantra that we can say, “I am not my circumstance. I am not the circumstances of my past. I am the creator of my future.” That’s who you are. You are not your past, but what you are is the creator of your future. What are you going to do with that? What are you going to create? Are you going to focus on the past? Are you going to focus on the things that are going on or that have gone wrong or you’re going to focus on creating? Creating something new, creating something better. That’s what a Game Changer does.
The next one is regardless of the circumstances, “I shall have the life I desire.” Isn’t that a beautiful? Imagine if you went around all day saying that to yourself. Imagine if you said that to yourself 50 times a day, 100 times a day, even 25 times a day. What if there’s something that you will remember in your mind multiple times a day and you would repeat it to yourself, to the point where you get it into your subconscious? When you begin to believe that and you begin to believe it so much that you can feel it? Can you imagine how your actions would change by having that mantra, regardless of the circumstances, I shall have the life that I desire. That is beautiful.
The next one is, “This situation that I’m in shall pass. It’s only temporary.” One of the things that I use when I was in the hospital and I was dealing with paralysis and learning how to walk again is I would always say to myself, “It’s only temporary.” The doctors were telling me that my condition was going to be permanent. I was going to be a vegetable for the rest of my life. That was my diagnosis. Regardless of that I will say to myself, “It’s only temporary. It’s only temporary.”
I wouldn’t allow what the doctor said to get down in my spirit. I wouldn’t allow myself to believe it. I wouldn’t allow that to be the end all of my life, but I would speak to myself. I would use the power of my tongue and I would say it’s only temporary, this too shall pass. The final one, the fourth one is all things are possible to him that believe. Because sometimes it may seem like we can’t get out of that rut. Sometimes it may seem like this is insurmountable and I tried everything that I know how to try and I don’t know how to get out. It’s impossible and this is what life is going to be for me. I’m here to tell you that all things are possible to him that believe in. You’ve got to believe it and you’ve got to keep believing it.
Then you’ve got to put your faith into action. You can’t believe it or not do anything. You can’t believe it and sit on the corner. You can’t believe it or not put any work to that. You can’t believe it or not be able to put forth your effort. You’ve got to believe it and put forth the work. You’ve got to believe and put forth the action. The action that’s going to bring change. You’ve got to have that plan, you’ve got to believe in your plan. You’ve got to believe that all things are possible to Him.
If you keep believing it and if you keep working and I am here to tell you change will come and you will find yourself in a greater position than you are right now, but you’ve got to keep going. You’ve got to own up to your own potential for prominence. One thing I love about being in a circumstance or situation is that you’ve got to continue to move. You can’t sit still. A lot of people say, “I’m waiting on God,” but they’re not doing anything. You’re waiting but you’re not doing anything.
One thing I want to share with you is when I’m in the gym, when we’re resting, sometimes I’ll do a set, I knock out ten, fifteen reps and then I’ll stop and I’m resting for the next step, preparing for the next set and my trainer doesn’t allow that. What we do is we do active rest and so when I’m resting, even in my rest, I’m doing something else and it may not be with that same muscle group. It may be with a different muscle group, but we’re actually doing something instead of sitting there and waiting but you are continually moving.

Change Your Life: When you are in the valley, when you are in that deal, it is important that you move.
When you are in the valley, when you are in that deal, it is important that you move. It is important that you take action. It is important that you’re always doing something that is going to propel you out of it. Sometimes you feel like you’ve done everything but you haven’t. Because if you’ve done everything, you’ll be out. There is something yet to be done that is going to allow you to come out of that, you haven’t found it yet. Even if the action is researching. Even if the action is continuing to do what it is that you are doing, perhaps you haven’t done it long enough, perhaps you need to go a little bit deeper.
Whatever it is we have to keep moving. We have to keep trying it because we have to move beyond our paths and unlock our potential. It’s up to you to realize that you can’t refuse to be a victim of your past, be a victim of your circumstances. You do not have to be a victim of your outer environment. You can change it and if there’s anything that you are doing that is conducive to the current situation that you’re in, you want to stop doing that. When I say move, find the things that you can be doing that is conducive to your goal. Find the things that you can be doing that is conducive to the change that you want in your life. Find those things and it’s up to you to figure it out.
Figure out what you want to do and what you want your future to look like and what are the activities that are going to get you there. That means getting a support group, finding a coach, finding a mentor, or getting involved with people who are about change, who wants to make a difference in life. You can do that. You can start understanding what it takes to be a game changer, to change your own life and at some point, you have to do this because at some point you must move beyond your past and unlock your potential. You have to find that for yourself and it is available for you. It could mean you have to strengthen your spirituality. Spend more time in prayer, spend more time with your support group, spend more time with your mentor learning.
Find someone that can help you. I’m not saying find someone that’s going to make you feel good. I know it gets depressing at times whenever we’re in those types of situations and we do need someone to comfort us and I agree with that wholeheartedly. There’s going to come a time where it takes more than that. It takes more than a feel good. It’s going to take some know how this is going to take some. What is the next step? If you’ve got someone that’s making you feel good, but they can’t give you that next step, then they can only give you half of what you need. Perhaps you need to go get someone else that’s maybe not going to make you feel good, but they’re going to give you some action steps that you can take in order to get out of that situation.
Whatever it is that you have to do, you have to find that. You have to be willing to do that and it’s going to take some grit. It’s going to take some effort. You can do it and that is all part of your growth. Growth doesn’t always feel good. I’m going to tell you growth doesn’t always feel good. Sometimes growth hurts. Sometimes when you’re stretching yourself, if you can imagine stretching a muscle that you haven’t stretched in a long time, there’s a little discomfort there. If you keep stretching it, you keep stretching it and you keep stretching it, you’ll find that you can extend your range.
As you extend your range, it becomes easier. It becomes more comfortable, it becomes more familiar and you’ll find yourself doing things that you never thought that you could do before. You’ll find yourself in the middle of your change. You’ll find yourself experiencing the life that you want to live and our circumstances and situations will be a thing of the past and you’ll be moving on to bigger and better things. You’d be moving on to the next level, better equipped to handle the next level with more faith and more confidence in yourself and your ability to succeed. That’s what being a game changer is all about.
