On the Field of Dreams with Rodney Flowers

For many years I’ve been a devotee of Dr. Wayne Dyer’s work, and through his writing have cultivated an ever-deepening appreciation of Abraham Maslow’s definition and study of self-actualizing people. In Dyer’s 2014 memoir, I Can See Clearly Now, the author relates his mentor’s view: “Maslow describes the innate inner calling of these kinds of people to become everything they are capable of becoming, and how difficult to impossible it is for them to stifle this drive.”

Bestselling author Rodney Flowers fits that description to a tee.

I’m honoured to share with you my interview with Rodney, a man who defied the odds in willing himself to regain mobility after a high school football injury left him paralyzed from the neck down.

Rodney’s mission to walk again and his resolve to be a creative person of increase for others, regardless of conditions, stand out in my mind as marks of a self-actualizing individual. I am amazed by this fellow traveller on the Field of Life. I’m grateful for his friendship and example.

I’m also grateful for your presence here.

You have a creative mission. And you are far more powerful than you know.

We all are.

My sincere appreciation and thanks to Rodney for sharing his remarkable story. As ever, thanks to Katie McBride for the Creative Calls music and technical support.
