Welcome to the show, Dr. Erin. I’m delighted to have you.

Thank you so much. Your story is inspiring. I am honored to be here spending this hour with you.

I’m glad that you’re here because there are a lot of people out there with a lot of dreams. They wake up every day and they wish that they were doing this and that. They wish that their dreams would come true and here you are the manifester. You know how to manifest dreams. How do we manifest our dreams? I want to get into that conversation with you.

First, we have to recognize that we’re already manifesting 24/7. There’s zero effort in manifesting. Our belief is how we be and live. You can see what people are truly committed to and what they truly believe by the mental equivalent of what our picture is of their lives. We first have to recognize the good, the bad, the suffering, the awesomeness. All that parts of our lives, we’ve already manifested and we’re manifesting right now.

We can do the whole show on that one topic right there. Who are we? We are manifesters. We are creators and that is a point that gets overlooked. We don’t understand and take in the depth of who we are as individual as human beings. When we think about manifesting our dreams, we feel like it’s something out there instead of something in here. As the Doctor of Divinity, would you please take us on a journey? Let’s talk about that right there. Why don’t we do that? That’s a fundamental problem and issue when it comes to manifesting our dreams.

A flower cannot blossom without having resistance, without persevering through the weather. Click To Tweet

I train spiritual coaches taking their business online. I work with top CEOs. I’ve worked with huge celebrities. The reality is we all want a good life. We all want to have good health. We want to have an abundance of money. We want to have a deep love in general. We all have a human desire to have a great life. The question for me years ago was, why do we know what to eat but we don’t necessarily eat what we know what to eat? Why do we know what it’s going to take to get the job done but we don’t get the job done? We already know and we’re confused like, “What’s going on here? This is confusing.”

When you pull back the layers of consciousness and you get to what’s going on for people, our job is not to manifest, our job is to get out of the way of the expression that we already are. The real work is counterintuitive. It’s not so much about getting stronger will and hustle. That’s part of it. Let’s face the fact that you got to take inspired action. The real job is to get out of your own way, do your inner trauma work, release the limiting beliefs and identity, and stop sabotaging yourself. That’s the work. We have a flow. You have a flow and I have a flow and they’re unique divine expressions. The real job is to get out of the way. We’re here to complete the lineage that we’ve born into the particular DNA and we’re here to complete those cycles.

This is true but unfortunately, we’re not taught that. No one tells us how to get out of our own way, at least not in school. A lot of times, something has to happen in your life. You’re in a place where there’s no way out and you start looking for things and then you find out, “There’s such a thing called a higher consciousness. I didn’t know that. Why didn’t I know this when I was eighteen? Why didn’t they teach me this when I was in grade school? I could be the most awesome manifester by now.” How do we do that? How do we peel back those layers and get to our true identity and become the manifester that we are? Walk us through that.

I spoke at the Conscious Life Expo in Los Angeles. It was a huge conference with David Wolfe speaking and Russell Brand and these huge names and stuff. There’s a common denominator with all of this and it’s called consciousness. That’s the commonality of people who are successful because they understand it all begins in mind and consciousness. Consciousness is not just individual consciousness, we are the collective or the cosmic consciousness. How do we do that? Let’s get back on how to take your business online? It’s all the same work. I don’t care if it’s about awakening and manifesting your dream or building a business or having more love in your life. It comes down to commitment. You’ve got to get clear of what you’re truly committed to before you begin manifesting. A lot of times, we think we’re keeping up with the Joneses or keeping up with the rat race of life.

We don’t necessarily truly desire what it is that we’re going to manifest. We want to first get clear what the commitment is. Why do you want to manifest? Why do you want $100,000 or 6 to 7-figure business? Is it because you were told that and you saw somebody else do that? We’ve got to get down to your why. We’ve got to clear off the commitment back to all of that because without commitment, I promise you, you’re not going to manifest it. Commitment is always number one. Sometimes people go, “I don’t know what I want.” Your number one commitment then should be to discover what it is that you truly want and birthing your purpose in this lifetime. I truly believe we’re here for a specific legacy to leave here which is you, you’re the highest product to produce. Commitment is number one in manifesting. You’ve got to get clear.

GCM 101 | Manifesting Dreams

Manifesting Dreams: Your number one commitment should be to discover what it is that you truly want and birthing your purpose in this lifetime.

There’s a gap between who you’re being right now and who you desire to be to embody the equivalent of what you want to manifest in your life. If you want to have a lot of money, you’ve got to have the mindset and the skillset to understand what it takes to be a multi-millionaire or whatever it is that you desire. If you want to be someone who has an extraordinary relationship, you’ve got to have the mentality, the mindset and the skillset it takes to communicate these things that it takes to maintain a good relationship. It’s about getting committed and then understanding that gap. Oftentimes I say, “If you’ve got a goal that’s big but you don’t truly want it, stop the insanity.” Stop the torture of having some big dream that’s not even realistic for you. You’ve got to close that gap so that you get committed 1000% to your dream. Until you’re committed, I can’t help you manifest.

We’re on number one and I’m sure there’s more. Here is a place where people miss the boat because when you talk about commitment and closing that gap, what goes in between where you are and where you want to be when you talk about commitment is alignment. A lot of times, we want certain things but then you’re out of line with your purpose. You’re trying to commit but you can’t commit because you don’t have the DNA or the ingredients on the inside to commit to that because that’s not what you were designed to do in the first place. There’s something missing in terms of what your purpose is and what you can contribute to life and what life can give back to you. If you’re out of alignment with that, that can cause some confusion and some static.

It’s the traditional coaching. Get committed and do it right. It’s old school. Here’s what’s missing in that gap. The gap that I found over many years of seeking truth and figuring out the universal law and what’s going on for people is that the primary thing is trauma. The primary thing is the limited belief. When I’m working with a client, whether a big celebrity or train as a spiritual coach to embody and be able to teach us to work, number one, we are restoring the true identity. How do we do that? We restore it by releasing the limited beliefs that are being programmed and playing out in the subconscious mind. What happens on an energetic level is we all have emotional trauma. Whether that be your parents got divorced when you’re little and you were crying when they were in an argument or whether you were sexually abused, people have been through some serious stuff on this planet. In that state, our subconscious mind is programmed through vibration. Vibration begins with emotion. You have belief that creates thoughts, emotions, and circumstances of your life.

In a high intense emotional state, which is a negative state of emotion, it’s backed by a command or a lie. The subconscious mind says, “I’ll never love again, I’m not enough or I can’t do that.” It plays out like puppets strings. You can look at your friends and be like, “Why do they keep sabotaging this thing? Why do they keep having the same relationship over and over with a different person?” It’s because the subconscious is programmed with this stuff. You’ve got to begin to heal your trauma and release the limited beliefs, release your limited story and restore freedom of choice and free will.

Another great analogy or metaphor is a computer. I use this a lot. If you’re looking at your phone or computer, you can touch it and it’s called the hardware. If you touch your phone, it’s called the hardware. Our body is our hardware. Inside of the phone is the software and it gets glitches in it and you need to update it. It’s the same with us, our programming comes from our DNA. It comes through the programming that we’ve seen through different things, different experiences and we get glitches in it. You have memory. In your phone, you can have a great memory, you can have a terrible memory. In us, we have memory in every single cell. You can call it Akashic records. DNA epigenetics proves that we have all memory.

Your struggle is your greatest asset. Click To Tweet

Like your computer or your phone, it can get slow. It can get glitches and viruses. It can draw all kinds of things. What do you need to do? You’ve got to clear up your phone or your computer. You’ve got to clear out all the tabs. You’ve got to clear out the cache. You’ve got to clear out that spinning ball. It’s the same thing with us. We get confused, we get overwhelmed, we get sad, we’ve got all those things. We have to clean up our computer and subconscious work is a way of clearing up, restoring, and rebooting your system to get back to having its actual workability.

I found that a hack whenever you’re in this place and you find yourself having been abused or programmed and you got all these beliefs and story about who you are and what you’re able or not able to accomplish, is to discover what you can gain from this situation that can help someone else. I believe that every obstacle comes with a seed of success. The first thing that we want to do is identify, “What am I gaining from this that I didn’t have as a result of this?” We could feel the pain, we could feel the trauma, we could feel the fear, but let’s identify the things that are going to help us. It could be something as simple as the faith and strength to get through it or the awakening with our higher consciousness to this particular situation or the fact that I was telling myself a story.

You can share your story with someone who’s going through something similar and that can help and inspire them. That’s a hack whenever you find yourself in those types of situations. How do you discover your purpose of calling? People get to a place and these situations and they’re like, “My life is over. No one’s going to love me because I’ve been raped. I’m not going to be successful because I lost my business. I lost all my money. I’m in debt.” The story goes on and on, but there’s a purpose and a calling in these things if you can identify them.

You teed up this perfectly because why do our trauma work? Why do whatever? The point is there’s a formula for birthing your purpose and calling. It may not be the truth of the formula but it’s worked for every single person I’ve worked with. I’ve taken thousands of people through this formula. The formula is three parts for birthing your purpose and calling. The formula is your triumphs. All that sufferings or the hardest things you’ve ever gone through. Your triumphs plus your passions plus your skillset. For example, there was a gal at the talk that I asked, “What was the hardest thing you’ve ever had to go through?” She said, “Speaking in front of people is one of the hardest things I’ve had to go through.” I’m thinking, “That’s not hard.” Most people have been through a lot harder than that. Everything from eating disorders to dysfunction, addiction, rape, depression, whatever it may be, and then it’s like, “What is your passion?”

If you won the lottery and you didn’t have to worry about money, what would you spend your time doing? What is your success? That generally is what births a purpose. For example, the hardest thing I ever had to overcome was having a stillborn child, full-term giving birth to your dead baby. What I overcame is being disempowered, feeling like I was a defect in this world. My passion is helping people and helping them understand the truth of who they are. My skillset is I speak and I teach. My skillset is in public figure. When you put that together, you get your purpose. For example, we don’t want to learn from somebody about how to lose weight from some skinny person that’s always been skinny her whole life. I prefer to learn from somebody that struggled with their weight, they got obese and pulled it out together, or they had an eating disorder and they figured out how to do it right.

GCM 101 | Manifesting Dreams

Manifesting Dreams: There’s a gap between who you’re being right now and who you desire to be to embody the equivalent of what you want to manifest in your life.

We don’t want to learn about how to become a multimillionaire from somebody that was born in a rich family. We want to hear about somebody who was homeless, they were on the streets, they pulled it together and they’re a multi-millionaire now. Your struggle is your greatest asset. It is in that hard suffering, those dark times that is the biggest blessing that we choose that at a soul level, as a contract almost. We’re coming in and we want to experience this and then we want to help be the person that helps bring others across the bridge to the light.

You said something polarizing and I can’t let it go any further without addressing it. Your struggle is your biggest asset. No one wants to go through struggle. No one considers struggle an asset. Are you kidding me? That’s more like a liability. Why do you think struggling is an asset?

To get a little bit poetic here, to love life is to love all of life. Let’s get it right. You’re never going to get to a place where it’s all roses, rainbows and unicorns. That’s a bunch of BS, in my opinion. It’s all life. You’re going to have hard days and good days. You’re going to be frustrated sometimes. If you don’t get that, all of life is before you, all of life is for your awakening, every last drop of it. It’s all love. You’ve got to get that it is in that struggle that is the most beautiful. A flower cannot blossom without having resistance, without it persevering through the weather, through the cold nights. It doesn’t blossom into that gorgeous thing without the struggle. It’s impossible. That’s you and me. We would never be who we are if we hadn’t gone through the struggle. We would be like robots like, “It was all great.” It’d be boring.

I feel as people, we are blessed, but we walk around complaining about our blessing because of the struggle, the challenge, and the obstacle. God, the universe, is clever because you’ve heard many stories of people who have gone through some of the most horrific things, but the most beautiful thing has come out of that. Nothing comes easy every time you’re trying to accomplish something. You look at Elon Musk and what he’s doing with electric cars and space and all that, that’s some challenge. He’s going to persevere. He’s going to get through this. What’s going to come off that? Everything that you see that exists in the world that’s a challenge, there’s a challenge behind it that you don’t see. It’s like that iceberg sticking out of the water. You see that but you don’t see what’s underneath, what’s holding that iceberg. When we are going through challenges in our own lives, we have these desires, “I want this. I want that. I want to be this. I want to be that.” It’s the challenge. It’s the obstacles that come to you that shape and mold you into the person worthy of being the thing that you’re asking for, but we complain about that.

We were talking with a bunch of successful business owners, multiple seven figures, some are going from 6 to 7 and so on and so forth, everyone agrees that it is in the negative feedback of your clients. It’s in the failures. It’s in all that where you grow as a business owner. Business development is spiritual development. You don’t ever grow as a business until you have resistance again. This is such an important point, what is a blessing and what’s a curse? Maybe your greatest blessing is the hardest worst thing ever. That’s where the blessings come from. It’s such a backward mentality. If somebody complains, they’re not even in my universe. They’re not going to even belong in my universe because they have not done the work. You’ve got to get clear. It is all working for you. If you don’t know that, you’ve got to seriously go on and do some serious work.

Our job is not to manifest; our job is to get out of the way of the expression that we already are. Click To Tweet

I’m working on a new book and I’m thinking about naming the title of this book, Resilient Intelligence or Resistance Intelligence. We have the IQ, we have the EQ, the emotional intelligence, but we don’t know how to be resilient. We don’t know how to have the intelligence to manage resistance. I created the Game Changer Mentality because I believe that when the challenges show up, that’s game time. That’s not the time for you to crawl in a corner, woe is me, cry and pout, even though it may hurt. I feel that when that shows up, you got to have the intelligence and the consciousness to understand that there is something for you to gain here. This is not to put you down and to take life away from you, but this is the opportunity for you to expand your territory and experience even more life. It’s like the flower that was the seed that is eventually coming out of the ground and being able to spread its leaves and blossom into the plant that it was designed to be but it’s not easy. If you could talk to a tree, it would tell you, “Growing is painful.” It hurts sometimes to stretch but it’s necessary.

They have a new term called post-traumatic growth in positive psychology. That’s the biggest shift we’re having in our culture and it’s going to take us changing our language. It’s going to take us changing our entire mentality around and realizing that this is where the growth happens. If we want to evolve as an individual, as a collective, how do we grow out of this? Instead of looking at the media of what’s wrong with everything, how can we learn from this? How can we grow from this? What’s the message and the takeaway? If this thing is a classroom called life, if it’s an easy classroom, you’re not going to grow. You’re here to get developed. How do you get developed? If your teacher doesn’t push you, you’re not going to get developed.

That’s a mentality. That’s a perspective. You and I, we have a higher level of consciousness when it comes to these things. If we can get people to change their perspective on life, change perspective on the game, you want to score, things that are stopping you from scoring, it’s not that you can’t score, you’ve got to rise to the level of know-how and consciousness in order to get around the defense to get into the angle. That’s what you’ve got to do. It’s there but you’ve got to do the work that’s necessary in order to raise your game.

That’s why people like sports because they see defense and offense. You’re either in the stands evaluating life, analyzing and doing whatever or you’re on the court playing the game. You’re on that offense or defense but you’re playing. The invitation for all of us is to get on the court and start playing. Stop talking about it, evaluating it, judging and thinking you’ve got it all figured out. Another takeaway that I’ve had because I trained about 100 women that I coach. I was in this mastermind with the majority of men and it was about twenty of us. There are three women out of twenty.

It was interesting to watch the difference because the men are like, “Take action.” They haven’t necessarily stood back and said, “Why am I doing this and why does this matter to me?” The women are almost the opposite. They think so much about why and the feeling and how important it is to them, but then they lack in taking action. Somehow, we’ve got to find that balance of getting clear of our mission and our why, but then also executing and getting out there. The real zest of life, in my opinion, is when your daily spiritual practice is not sitting and meditation, your daily spiritual practice is practicing what you’re preaching every minute of every conversation, in every breath. That’s where it gets fun. It’s like a big game. I love it.

GCM 101 | Manifesting Dreams

Manifesting Dreams: Business development is spiritual development. You don’t ever grow as a business until you have resistance again.

Is that why the spiritual coaching industry is exploding? Are people finding that there’s a lack of consciousness as we play the game of life and we need more people to help coach people through this?

It’s becoming mainstream from Elon Musk to Jerry Seinfeld. All the big players are talking about their meditation. I don’t know about Elon Musk if he does it. Some of the huge comedians and stuff are doing meditation. They’re like, “There must be something about getting my mind right and having success.” We recognize now that you’ve got to have both. You’ve got to have the mindset and the skillset. You can’t have one of the other because we live in a reality around there’s a skillset that it takes to learn the online world. It’s like learning Japanese. You’ve got to learn Japanese with the online world and you can do it on your own, but it’s much better if you can probably have a coach and have somebody to walk you through that process.

With mindset, you could probably start dabbling in some of this stuff and start doing a little meditation, but why not go where there’s a proven system and a framework that can help you excel that? It doesn’t mean you have to only stay in that framework. I’ve got spiritual coaches that love my framework and love what I teach like metaphysics, new thought ministry, science, mind, and they do it. Others take it and they go through the process, but then they also want to dabble in other modalities and it’s fine. We’ve got this incredible menu we have now out there in the coaching world and the good thing is you get to choose what you want and have a few different coaches over time.

As a spiritual coach yourself, why are spiritual principles important?

When I’m birthing, my goal is to birth someone’s truth. We birth their true power, their passion, their purpose. It’s funny because our want is stripping back all identity to the I am, to all-powerful, all-knowing infinite aspects that you are and then we come back in. We create what you truly want your core values and your core principles and what matters to you specifically through the suffering that you’ve had and that purpose that you’re birthing out of that. It’s important to understand your values and what is right for you in all aspects of your life, everything from how do you like to sleep to food, to what do you like in a relationship. If you don’t know yourself and you don’t know your core principles that you like to live by, how are you ever going to have a powerful relationship? You’re going out and dating because dating is great. You can date everybody. At some point in time, you’re like, “I like that. I don’t like that.” You start honing down your path of truth. Eventually, you’re like, “This is what I absolutely know, it’s right for me.” That’s power. Power is clarity.

You've got to get clear of what you're truly committed to before you begin manifesting. Click To Tweet

I feel like identity plays a big part in your success or failure in life. Having spiritual principles in your life could be a guide, not only getting clear about your identity but maintaining that level of identity as well. It goes back to when you talked about your passion and understanding what your passion is. Someone in the audience says, “My passion was whatever it was, and then this thing happened. That’s still my passion and I still want to pursue that but this thing happened. I don’t know if I can pursue that.” Now we have a conflict with what happened and then what your passion is and how do we move forward? What are your thoughts on that? How can spiritual principles or practices help that person navigate that?

We have to first define what is a spiritual principle to live by? It could be anything from focusing on what you do want instead of focusing on what you don’t want. It could be never make anyone wrong and focusing on people’s strengths and following your bliss. It could be never settling if you’re somebody whose principle is to always move and be committed to your dreams. There are many different principles. You get to make up your own principles for yourself. Your principles maybe, “I don’t do drugs,” whatever the principles that you live by. It’s your own morality. What principles do you want to embody to have the life you desire?

First of all, 50% of our population is over 50 in America. The reality is that you’re never too old. I do not believe that at all. Have you seen some of those amazing 90-year-old women and they’re lifting weights and doing gymnastics? I’m like, “They’re badasses.” First of all, you can start online and you can do business at any age. You can have a huge following because older people may not want these little young leaders. There’s no excuse. Anything that we desire is possible. Is it possible for you to be the President of the United States? Look who won. The reality is that anything is possible. Is it possible exactly in the form that you want? No, it’s that or something greater. It’s possible. Could somebody be a ballerina dancer at 40? Not under the guidelines of what we have and culture but that doesn’t mean you can’t start an entirely new genre of ballerina dancers that are 70 years old. Anything is possible. The only thing that can ever restrict you, suppress you or hold you back is yourself, end of story.

If I could take it a little further. I feel that whenever you’re in those situations and you feel that possibility is way over the years, it’s way out there, that’s your responsibility to give yourself the opportunity and possibility. That’s your responsibility. That’s what you have to do. Even if it feels like it’s way out there, you have to take that responsibility to give yourself that opportunity of possibility. I want to share what happened to me. I have been told that I was never going to walk again and be a vegetable for the rest of my life. That’s news no one wants to hear. I felt like everything that I wanted in life wasn’t possible.

I went looking for something that will allow the vision that I had to come forward. I started looking for opportunities because that’s what we’re talking about here. Something happened in your life and it seemed like that road of opportunity that you were once on has been shut down. There is a “Do not enter” sign or the “Road is closed” sign on your road. You’re feeling you can’t get there and the destination is over, but there are detours or other ways to get there. Those are what we call opportunities. The growth, the spiritual practices, the higher consciousness, those are the things that make you aware of those other roads that you can take.

GCM 101 | Manifesting Dreams

Manifesting Dreams: The real zest of life is when your daily spiritual practice is practicing what you’re preaching every minute of every conversation in every breath.

You’ve probably heard the saying, “There’s money all around you. There are opportunities for you to make money all around you, but you don’t have the consciousness to see it.” Have you ever thought about a certain type of car that you wanted? You’ve never noticed this particular car on the road, but as soon as you make your mind that, “That’s the car I want.” You start noticing this car all the time. You probably had that happen. It’s not that the car was never there, it’s your level of consciousness has become more aware and can recognize this particular car in your presence. The same thing goes with opportunities. It doesn’t matter what has happened to you, what matters is your ability to recognize the opportunities that can get you to your passion.

That brings us back to the original conversation around manifestation. I would imagine that when you were in a wheelchair and the doctors probably said, “You’ll never walk again,” there was probably a multitude of things that went on. First of all, you had to commit and say, “I don’t know how, I don’t know what, I don’t know when, but I want to walk again. I’m going to get out of my wheelchair.” It’s a power of decision in the mind. It’s a decision. It’s like the negative traumatic incident backed by a lie and then seeing belief, we also can reprogram the subconscious mind powerfully with a powerful high state of emotion backed by truth. It’s a command, it’s a declaration. That’s the power of a decision is the declaration. We have to believe it and embody it. Every day, I’m sure you had to get your mind right, visualize, believe, and feel yourself as if you’re walking out of that wheelchair.

There’s also probably a skillset that went with it. I would imagine that you did some research. You probably sought out some different people or techniques or how did other people do this or what skillset and body? You had to build a mindset and a skillset. The subconscious is programmed through vibration. We know that through biofeedback that whether we visualize it in our mind and feel it versus doing it, the mind and the body doesn’t know the difference. That’s why doing daily spiritual practice, having meditation, visioning, feeling it, incantations, affirmations, vision boards and all that stuff is part of the process. We also need to take inspired action. We say, “Pray and then move your feet.” It’s like, “What inspired action did you take to reinforce the belief for yourself?”

It goes back to what we started talking about, commitment. I made a commitment. I wasn’t going to believe what the doctor said. I told myself, “I’m either going to get out of this wheelchair or die trying.” That was it. There was no going back. I did what you said, I looked for people. Dennis Byrd was the only person that had overcome this. He played for the Detroit Lions. He got hurt and I read his book and things like that. He was the only one that I felt had been in a similar situation and overcoming it. I started reading about him but even more, I started to think about, “What type of person does this?” The why was the fact that if I was to overcome this, I would get what I was looking for from playing football, which was I wanted to be successful. I wanted everything that comes with being a successful football player.

People love football players, it’s inspirational, the money and all of that, but then I felt like, “If I do this, it’s so much more because you can help people accomplish their goals and their dreams. This is way bigger than playing football.” That was the why. That was the thing that got me moving. That was the thing that made me make the commitment. The bread and butter was, what type of person does this? I asked myself, “Who do I have to be? What type of person do I have to be in order to accomplish this goal?”

To love life is to love all of life. Click To Tweet

Things were coming up that were outrageous at the point. It was like you may have to be the person that practices, visualizes, and eats certain things, and not do certain things, and do this or do that all day. You have to be the type of person that is not going to quit no matter how much it hurts. Be the type of person that you’ve got a little twitch in your hand and that’s all you have. You’ve got to practice that twitch. You’ve got to make it twitch 1,000 times a day. You see these freakish athletes. You hear that they practice four hours a day, seven days a week. They don’t eat rice and they only drink water, that’s outrageous stuff that most people would never consider doing. There were things like that that I did and I noticed that as a result of being those things, not as so much doing those things but being the type of person that would do those things, that you get to experience certain types of results.

It’s the same thing with business. Are you the type of person that would X and you fill in the blank? It’s good to have these people that are successful but they are examples of what’s possible. They’re not the end-all-be-all. You don’t have to be Elon Musk but if you understand the things that Elon Musk does, the type of person that he is, and you can adapt some of those principles and practices in your life then you can start to get results. It may not be the same result as Elon Musk and you don’t want the same resource as Elon Musk because Elon Musk has his own purpose. Aligning the type of person you are and the type of person that you want to be with your passion will produce a result that’s valuable, not only to you but to life. It’s your contribution back to the world for your very existence, in my opinion.

It’s profound what you said and I believe 1000%. It’s whatever you’re embodying, that’s what is the most important. Not everybody wants to be the best athlete or the biggest entrepreneur. Sometimes people are like, “I just want a little bit of money so I’m not stressed out. I want to not have a dysfunctional relationship where I’m fighting every Sunday. I want to have the basics of life.” The reality is that the work is the same. There isn’t a difference. The reality is if you want to be somebody that has a stable relationship, you’ve got to be stable. If you want to have consistent income, you’ve got to be somebody that understands the principles that is the mentality of somebody who has a stable income and that’s able to have that skillset. The work is identical. It comes back to what do you want?

The reality is as Mark Twain said, “I can help any man get what he wants, the problem is I can’t find a man that knows what he wants.” If you don’t know what you want, that’s okay. What your primary goal and what you want is to figure out what you want, otherwise, you’re at the whim of life and that’s fine, but don’t complain about it. If you want to be at the whim of life, that’s fine. Have a great roller coaster. It’s a beautiful thing. If you’re done being the roller coaster and being the pinball machine, react to life. You’ve got to be able to know what you want and what’s direct energy and relationships according to aligning with what you desire.

What you desire and what you want, does that align at all with your contribution to the world? If you ask people what they want, they’re going to say, “I want fame, money, happiness, etc.” It’s all about what they get. What about what you give? A lot of the answers to what you want can be found in what you enjoy giving.

Awakening: A 40-Day Guide to Unleashing Your Spiritual Powers, Life’s Purpose and Manifesting Your Dreams!

There’s a big distinction there for sure. We’re here about expressing ourselves and experiencing the experience. Our culture has gotten much into getting, having and honing a bunch of millions of dollars, having this or having the house. We have found through even Harvard studies that that does not necessarily make people happy at all. In fact, beyond $70,000, there’s no correlation of being happy. You can have those things but if you think about it, it’s about the currency of exchange of life. The currency of love is not a thing you have. It’s an energy expression exchange.

I completely agree and that it is the gift of service for sure. Where I get like being a parent, you get more enjoyment of giving to your child than anything. The expression of love when you get to express it, it’s where the joy is. It’s serving and having clients and knowing how much they’ve been transformed by your work, that’s fulfilling. It’s a service and a legacy. That’s the shift that our culture is going through. Gary Vee talks about a lot that our happiness needs to be assessed or measured by fulfillment. I don’t like the word happy because it’s fleeting. It’s what you have fulfilled. You can have a mansion on the hills, it doesn’t mean you’re going to be fulfilled.

Let’s talk about the word fulfillment a little bit. I want to get a little personal with you if you don’t mind. I know a little bit about your story and a loss that you experienced in your life and a type of loss that would challenge the level of fulfillment that you may have in your life at that time. I understand that you lost your child and things like that. That can be unfulfilling. This is something that’s in your body and it goes away. You have the expectation of spending a lifetime with your child. How did you overcome such an event like that and have the level of fulfillment? I see you, you’re doing all these great things, your life seems to be fulfilling. How did you overcome that and get to have so much fulfillment in your life?

It’s something that as a spiritualist, I believe that spirituality is the reality that everything comes from spirit. It has challenges in the awakening process and you realized that it’s all transient and we don’t get to keep any of this. There’s almost a hollowness that comes to it first. You’re like, “What is the point of all this?” You get that it is meaningless. It all goes away anyway. I had to go to that darkness. I had to go to the place of feeling hopelessness like, “What is the point of all this?” It’s about being the change I want to be in this world and making the difference that I want to see and experiencing all the experiences. All we have when it’s all said and done is, “What do I want to experience? With whom do I want to experience that?”

I’m fortunate because I have a 24-year-old son. He’s an amazing and incredible friend. The challenge is the same for all of us. It’s the meaning of life. It’s whatever you give it. It’s a challenge always for all of us to question and keep questioning. We don’t get to keep any of this and can feel depressing sometimes but then you’re like, “If it’s all that then what are we doing? I might as well make a difference and touch people’s lives.” That’s what drives me every single day. It’s not about this woman being happy. She’s never going to be happy. She can never be fulfilled. She’s only fulfilled when she lives at a service and lives for the experience of all of them.

Anything is possible. The only thing that can ever restrict you, suppress you or hold you back is yourself. Click To Tweet

Dr. Erin, if they wanted to learn more about you, maybe get coaching from you, and learn more from you, how can they connect with you?

I’m on all social media as DrErin.TV. I have a podcast also, it’s Soulciété with Dr. Erin. You can look up Dr. Erin. I do have some free gifts for your audience. I have a free book that comes with 40 guided meditations and a free Digital Master Class and it’s called Awakening. I can put that in here as well. If you go to my IG, the bio link, it has all the freebies, all the free courses I have, everything’s in there. You can go to Soulciete.com. It’s a French spelling of soul and society in one. There’s a lot of information right there. Thank you so much for all your work.

Thank you for coming on the show and sharing your story and your wisdom with us. Your work is necessary. I was reading a book, Humility Is The New Smart. It was talking about the coming of the smart machine age and how robots and all of this new artificial intelligence and technology are taking over. It’s redefining what it means to be human. As a result, people are starting to turn towards a higher level of consciousness connection, being a vulnerable collaboration in relationships, getting into this work and it’s shaping what it means to be human.

This work that you do is the forefront of what’s going to be normal here in the years to come. This is not going to be some flighty thing that people are not aware of anymore. It’s going to be a necessity because it’s defining what it means to be human. Getting involved in this now and starting to practice these principles and raise your level of consciousness is necessary. When you talk about fulfillment, I don’t think you can have fulfillment without this work. When you talk to a lot of people that are successful, you find out that they are doing these things. They’re meditating, they have spiritual practices, they’re spiritual people, and they have these rituals that they practice every single day. You’re like, “I thought you were some greedy, hungry, money monger that thought about money all day,” and it’s not. The reason why they have the money, the success, the fulfillment or whatever you want to call it, it is because of these types of things. I felt like your work and what you’re doing is a game-changer.

It’s like different athletes. It’s well-known the feedback and you got to get out of your way. You’ve got to get the fear out and get the limiting beliefs that are going to sabotage the success. I don’t think there’s one person on this planet that can’t benefit from doing the inner work and trauma work and getting their mind right. It’s such an honor. The best part of all this for me is meeting people like you and knowing that we’re all contributing. It’s a huge community of people that are doing the consciousness work and it’s awesome. It’s already a tidal wave and I’ve witnessed it. When I started, there were no yoga studios on every corner like there is now. It’s cool to watch it. Everyone talks about the universe like it’s their BFF and stuff like that. It’s a tidal wave in the making and it’s an honor. We’re blessed to be able to be doing what we love to do as our career.

Your primary goal is to figure out what you want, otherwise, you're at the whim of life. Click To Tweet

What is a game-changer mentality message that you would like to leave with the audience?

The greatest saying I ever heard was from a mentor and he said, “The universe has to agree with you 100% of the time.” How you think it is, how you see it is, how you believe it is, it is. If you get the profound out picturing of it’s done as you believe, you get that the most important work you’ll ever do on this planet is to shift your belief back to I am.

Thank you, Dr. Erin, for a beautiful show.

Thank you so much, Rodney.

There you have another successful episode. I advise and encourage you to check out Dr. Erin, go to her website. Take advantage of the freebie. Take advantage of the book, read it and do spiritual work. Put some spiritual practices in place. No matter where you are, what you’re going through, what story you have, whether it’s true or not, put some practices into place. Develop a new vision, develop a new identity or recognize the one that you have and begin to do that higher consciousness. Deal with the trauma. Find your passion, because the world needs you. We need you. I need you, Dr. Erin. We all need you. There is still a purpose for you regardless of what you’ve gone through.

Here’s a perspective. That thing that you feel is stopping you or that thing that happened to you that you feel happened to you for whatever reason, that could be the thing that gets you where you want to be. Let’s think about changing that perspective. Let’s harvest the good out of that thing. Realize that life is a great big, old process and part of that process is sometimes feeling like dirt has been thrown on you. Sometimes you have to be in that type of environment just like the seed in order for the right energy to come to you so that you can pop out and be the beautiful flower that you always designed to be. That’s my message for you. Thank you for reading and until next time, peace and love.

“There are moments in life when something happens, life alters, and your entire perception transforms instantaneously.” For Dr. Erin, that moment was 22 years ago when she was holding her stillborn son in her arms, just after giving birth to him. “Tears were streaming down my face as I looked at his beautiful body and realized his body was still there, but he wasn’t. I realized he wasn’t his body; he is a spiritual being. One can conceptually understand that we are not these bodies, but I got it on an entirely different level, my entire world crumbled, delivering me to spiritual revelation.” This sent her on an intense spiritual quest traveling around the world, discovering truths, and learning how to live and embody the truths that had been revealed.
